We Interrupt Blog Catch Up

to bring you this message...

18 months ago today, our kids stepped off the plane in Charlotte and became US citizens. That was a long day. Life was so different then, just a year and a half ago. I love looking back, but I don't really miss that time. It was very chaotic because we were trying to get to know each other, trying to communicate, get organized, settle into our new routine, and still have fun with family and friends.

Their grammar isn't perfect and they are still learning English words (just today Sophie asked me what a lightbulb was), but we are a family through and through. Life is so good and we thank God for our many blessings everyday.

I know that I had the best of intentions for staying on top of everything in those days, but I know I never got out all the thank you notes I wanted to in the last 18 months. So to all our family and friends who have spoiled us with your vacation time, bringing us meals, prayers, friendship, play dates, hand me downs, gift cards, listening to us brag about our sweet kids, and every other little thing you have all done for us, THANK YOU!

My friend Emily came to our house today (coincidently) to take some family pictures. I will post them when I get them later this week. :)

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to let a thank-you note here and htere slip through the cracks! :)
Will you come over and update my blog, too?
Love the updates!
Planning a Charlotte trip sometime next month.. :)

I love following your blog! Your kids are so beautiful! I can't believe they have been home 18 months.

I felt so much better to see that I'm not the only one behind on the thank you notes! Pre-children, that would have never have happened to me. We have three foster to adopt children (ages 3, 5 and 6) where the adoption should be finalized in the next couple of months. They have been home with us for 6 months now. When I think back to the first 3 months, it is sort of a blur in many ways! Yes, it is a lot to get organized, routines, learn each other etc. all at one time! I can't wait to see how much more settled our lives are at the 18 month point.

Please keep blogging...it is such an encouragement to me!

Shana, I would love to read your blog. Will you give me the info? I won't post it.

Julie, I am trying to plug along here and there to catch up on everything. I know I won't ever be caught up, but I sure do try! Also, let me know when you will be here. It would be great to see you again. Lily was asking me about "Hello Grace" about a month ago. :) I guess that is like her beloved Hello Kitty. ;) We have a very busy next few months, but if the timing is right it would be so fun.

Hi Krista, love following your blog. We have some friends who are thinking of adopting from the Ukraine. Can you tell me which agency you worked through? Thanks so much!

Hi! Oh, look at your sweet family. Russia for #4? I love it!

We didn't use a stateside agency. You don't need to. We used a facilitator in Ukraine named Kostya Farkovets. Ukraine Christian Adoptions. http://www.ukraineadoption.org/
