We Got Our...

Golden ticket! Okay, not really our golden ticket, but we got our appointment date and it is just as exciting. We will be traveling to the State Department of Adoptions in Kiev in the second half of June! I start teaching next week and school gets out the week we leave. It is going to be crazy. We can't wait.

We have so much to do. We have to book our airline tickets, order money (you can only take new, crisp bills to exchange), make a packing list, figure out how we will pay our bills while we are away, and all that. Luckily Kevin's parents are going to take care of Keaton and the house while we are there.

That is awesome!
We were there in June (gulp) 2002 and it was crazy weather. Sometimes very hot and sometimes cool. Definitely take some shorts though. The AC is far and few between!

What a wonderful blessing to get ready for your child or children.

Congrautlations! We are happy for you! Be prepared for anything and if you set expectations for age, gender, etc, you are setting yourself to be disappointed and you may miss out on some really great kids! Just keep an open mind. You never know what your journey has in store for you. We certain,y had no intention of adopting four and here we are!! I am so happy for the both of you and you will find that this is the wonderful journey of your life. Just try to relax and enjoy! When we get home, I will be glad to share any tidbits with you. We packed WAY too much. I can fill you in on necessities!

Congrats! What amazing news that is! I'm still getting over the jetlag and hadn't checked your blog in a while. I was thrilled to see you have your date. Don't hesitate to call me or email me about packing, etc. We carried on our bags, and still brought too much. We too, went asking for a child younger than what we came home with, but we are thrilled with what the Lord had in store for us! (Just a year older than we'd planned). Blessings on your travel preparations...

Congrats!! No date yet; I've sent out the requisite inquiry.

Your prep sounds pretty much like what we are thinking. Our back will not special order money for us, but if given enough time, they will pull the crisp bills from their drawers and put them aside. I couldn't ask for more than that.

JCPenny's is having a sale, luggage included. Looks like we expand our luggage capability tomorrow. So exciting to have a date :).
