Just before school got out Julian's gym had an Olympiad Day where we could come watch the skills he has practiced over the school year. Julian is quite the little gymnast. He is tiny and strong as can be, so this sport comes naturally to him. He really enjoyed it and the conditioning he got will help with any other sport he decides to try in the future. I bet he could go pretty far as a gymnast but he has decided to retire ;) and try soccer come fall. His coach was awesome and we would really miss him and the gym except that Lily started class there the very next week. We may have a little gymnast in the family yet.
On the rings:
His favorite skill each week was climbing this rope and ringing the bell at the top. He practically flies up there and the one without the knots in it too. Clearly he is not afraid of heights!
It wasn't a competition, but everyone got medals for participating.
Any other bloggers out there have suggestions for photo uploading? I have always just used the Blogger one on here with pictures I drag from my iPhoto account to my desktop and then upload. It takes forever and sometimes it is tricky to figure out the order Blogger is going to arrange them in. The time it takes is the #1 and only reason I don't blog as much as I wish I did. I often put the kids to bed and come down to post only to realize I am too worn out to start the tedious process. I tried to load them through Photobucket.com for this post. It was quick to upload them but they were all huge. I tried to resize them but ended up scrapping the idea and doing it the same old way after about 30 minutes of playing with it. There must be a secret (that is probably only a secret to me) because some of you moms would not be posting as often as you do if it took you as long as it takes me. I have at least 10 posts in my head, but don't have 10 hours to post them. ;)

Hey y'all! I can't believe we have been to North Carolina a couple of times and have yet to meet you! I love the crazy hair day pics and I'm so proud of you for updating your blog whenever that is! I plan to do a big one year update soon, so stay tuned if you're interested! I am on Facebook (Miriam Johnson) and so is Tara Carter. I'm so happy to see your beautiful kids are doing so well! Miriam in SC
Great photos! What big muscles that little guy has! I was a gymnast my whole life, and have such respect for male gymnasts! Whew!
Congrats on your first year! I love seeing how the kids have grown and thrived in this past year.
As for photos, I just switched to picasa, and I just use the html link- its a lot easier and if I ever leave blogger, I can bring my photos with me... I switched for the same reason you just mentioned, the wacky order and layout design. I much prefer picasa!
Oh, and about picasa, you can add your pictures in thumbnail, small, medium, or large- all of mine are medium, and I think if you click them, you can see them larger... but even still, at medium, they appear to be larger than blogger's photos...
I am too impatient for the upload process! I usually only upload the 1 or 2 best pics as medium. If I have more than 2 pics, I use www.slide.com and build a slide show. They let you upload 50 pics at a time. It takes a few minutes but all you have to do is kick it off, go do something else for 5 mins and come back. It is really simple and has saved me much frustration!!!
Wow. He looks like a pro up there!
I have a terrible time with pictures, much to the consternation of the relatives, so I can't help you. I used to use Picassa and that was easy, but it doesn't work for me anymore. sigh.
Windows Live Writer is the best for creating posts in blogger, mostly because you can resize and move the photos around easily. It might only be available on PC not Mac.
